Textbooks treat a model rocket flight as a simple parabolic equation. A freshman high school student pointed out to his class why this was not what actually happens. This session will look at why this student was correct and offer suggestions to make the problem more realistic as well as making it a problem using significantly more mathematics. Not only that, there are many correct answers to most of the questions this will raise. It also gives students a chance to preview Calculus concepts in Pre-Calculus, College Algebra and math classes before College Algebra.
