Jennifer Brown

Robeson Community College
President's Speaker / 2014 Excellence in Teaching Recipient for NCCC
Jennifer Brown is from Lumberton, NC. She is the youngest of six children. She attended the Public Schools of Robeson County, graduating from Lumberton High School. She went on to obtain both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Science Education with a Concentration in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She began her teaching career with the Public Schools of Robeson at Red Springs High School. During her tenure, she was selected as the school’s certified employee of the month, Teacher of the Year, and First Runner Up Teacher of the Year for the Public Schools of Robeson County. She joined the faculty of Robeson Community College in 2005. In addition to her teaching duties, Jennifer has served as the Faculty Association President, Chairperson of the Curriculum Committee and Student Resources Learning Committee, and Principal Investigator of a NASA CIPAIR grant. Most recently, she was selected as the 2013 RCC Instructor of the Year. From there, she went on to compete at the state level, and in January 2014, was selected as the RJ Reynolds Excellence in Teaching Award Recipient for the 58 colleges of the NC Community College System. Jennifer resides in Lumberton with her husband Trey and their two children, Paige and Landon.
